Seek to Understand First!

Before I can walk in another's shoes. I must first remove my own.  unknown

PLEASE LISTEN
When I ask you to listen to me
and you start giving me advice,
you have not done what I asked.
When I ask you to listen to me
and you begin to tell me why
I shouldn't feel that way,
you are trampling on my feelings.
When I ask you to listen to me
and you feel you have to do something
to solve my problem,
you have failed me,
strange as that may seem.
Listen! All I ask is that you listen.
Don't talk or do-just hear me.

Be a trim tab!

Huge Ships are turned and move in different directions by small means.  There is a small piece called the "Trim tab" that makes it all happen.  Watch the video clip and see how this can be an important lesson for all of us to learn. We can all be trim tabs on our own ships in our own oceans!

Put first things first

"Have you ever packed a suitcase and noticed how much more you can fit inside when you neatly fold and organize your clothes instead of just throwing them in?  It's really quite surprising.  The same goes for your life.  The better you organize yourself, the more you'll be able to pack in-more time for family and friends, more time for school, more time for yourself, more time for your first things."

Be Proactive!

  •  Proactive people make choices based on principle.
  •  Reactive people make choices based on feelings, their moods, emotions
           and impulse.

Quote: “Between stimulus (action) and response, there is a space. It is
possible for us as individuals to develop this capacity to pause and give wiser
responses. The ability to do that comes from the development and use of our
unique human gifts.” Stephen Covey
